Each tee is printed only after you order, so we do not hold stock and cannot accept returns for change of mind. What we do guarantee is that the item arrives the way it left the production partner — if it doesn’t, we will make it right.

Our quality guarantee

You may file a claim within 30 days of delivery if:

  • The item is damaged in transit (rips, stains, packaging crushed onto print)
  • The print is defective (smudged, off-register, missing ink, wrong placement)
  • The wrong item, size, or colour was sent
  • The garment is materially different from the product page

How to file a claim

Email studio@kanji-calligraphy.com within 30 days of delivery and include:

  • Your order number
  • A short description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the item, the defect, and the shipping label / packaging

We respond within 2 business days. Most claims are resolved without a physical return — please do not ship items back unless we ask you to. When a return is required, we cover the return label.

Refunds & reprints

For an approved claim you choose between:

  • Reprint and reship — the same item is produced and dispatched again at no cost.
  • Full refund — to the original payment method, including original shipping. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of approval; your bank may take a further 3–10 business days to display the credit.

Made-to-order policy

Because each item is produced individually for your order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Change of mind
  • Wrong size selected at checkout (please consult the sizing guide before ordering)
  • Minor variations inherent to print-on-demand production — slight differences in ink density, fabric weave, or print placement of 1–2 mm from the reference are normal and not considered defects

EU & UK statutory rights

European Union — right of withdrawal exemption. Under Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights (Article 16(c)), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are “made to the consumer’s specifications or are clearly personalised.” SUMI items are produced individually after each order is placed and therefore fall under this exemption. This does not affect your statutory rights regarding goods that are not as described, of unsatisfactory quality, or unfit for purpose under your national consumer-protection law.

United Kingdom. Made-to-order items are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to receive goods of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described are unaffected — defective or misdescribed items remain fully eligible under the guarantee above.

Online dispute resolution (EU). The European Commission provides an ODR platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged and do not commit to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body, but we always try to resolve disputes directly first.

United States consumers

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any right or remedy available to you under the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act or any applicable state consumer-protection statute. Defective or misdescribed items remain eligible for refund or reprint under the guarantee above regardless of the made-to-order exemption that applies to change-of-mind returns.
